Save the Date for the Annual Meeting on 2-3 December 2024

July 2, 2024 - Dernière mise à jour: October 31, 2024

Following the success of the inaugural meeting of experts on the Learning Sciences, which led to the establishment of the international community of practice of the Global Alliance on the Science of Learning for Education, UNESCO is organizing the first annual meeting of the Global Alliance to be held on 2-3 December 2024 at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.

The important aspect of operationalizing the community of practice has begun with the establishment of two thematic Working Groups around the themes of Foundational Learning and Technologies for Learning, which were selected based on priorities expressed by UNESCO Member States for accelerating achievement of SDG 4. Working Group members have been engaged in the preparation of two reports that will be the focus of the discussions at the annual meeting.

Meeting objectives

  1. Working Group members will present the pre-final reports on Foundational Learning and Technologies for Learning for consultation with a diversity of stakeholders, such as practitioners, policymakers and other members of the international education community.
  2. Presentations and panel discussions about new and emerging findings from the interdisciplinary fields of research that study learning and pedagogy.
  3. The launch of the Compendium of Insights from the Science of Learning for Education, a volume of research policy briefs based on the scientific presentations delivered by invited experts at the inaugural meeting in 2023.

Participants

All members of the Global Alliance on the Science of Learning for Education are invited to attend, as well as practitioners such as teachers, school leaders, teacher educators, curriculum developers, learning assessment experts, edtech companies, and national policymakers and technical experts.

Pre-Registration

To reserve a place for attending the meeting, kindly complete the pre-registration form as soon as possible. As spaces are limited, invitations will be issued on a first-come-first-served basis until all spaces are filled.
